Abstract
Introduction: This study aimed to determine the effect of environmental constraints in school sports on the motivation of adolescent girls to participate in sports, considering the method of nonlinear education in the city of Tabriz.
Methods: method of the present research is post-event and correlational research, which has been done in the field to be applied. The statistical population of this study consists of female high school students in the second grade of Tabriz city. In the present study, 318 female high school students were selected by cluster sampling Measurement tools include demographic information questionnaire and questionnaires of Social Support for Exercise Survey (James F. Sallis,1996) and sports participation motivation questionnaire (PMQ) (Gail et al., 1983). Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistical test was used to evaluate the normality of data distribution. Then, based on the natural distribution of variables, the Pearson correlation method and multiple linear regression by Inter method were used to analyze the data at a significance level of 0.05 with SPSS 21 software.
Results: The results showed a significant positive relationship between social support of parents and friends (environmental constraints) in school sports, with sports motivation of female students to participate, using the nonlinear education approach.
Conclusion: the results of multiple regression showed that social support of friends and family are significant predictors of the level of motivation for sports participation of adolescents. Using these findings, it can be suggested that the known variables of the ecological approach be used to predict the sports participation of young female students.
