Investigating the relationship between sports imagery ability and concentration and impulsivity in elementary school students

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the relationship of sports imagery ability with concentration and impulsivity in elementary school students of Mashhad city. The research was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-correlation in terms of type, whose data was collected using questionnaires. The statistical population included all the male and female students in elementary school (5th and 6th grades) in the district 4 of city of Mashhad, using the method of 5 times the number of items in the research tool (81 items in total), 405 of these people were selected as a sample. In order to collect data 3 questionnaires of sports imagery ability (Tahmasebi et al., 2022), concentration skill (Savari and Oraki, 2015) and impulsivity (Barat et al., 2004) were used. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between sports imagery ability and its components with concentration skills and impulsivity, and the components of sports imagery ability predict 66 and 53 percent of concentration skill and impulsivity changes, respectively. According to the findings, it can be stated that the higher the level of sports imagery ability, the better the concentration skills and impulsivity of students.
