| Abstract |
| Musculoskeletal disorders, especially spinal deformities such as scoliosis and poor posture, are among the common problems in today's societies that lead to chronic pain, reduced quality of life, and reduced motor function. The present study aimed to design and present a new corrective device to help improve back posture, reduce pressure on the vertebrae, and facilitate the rehabilitation process of patients with spinal deformities. The present study was conducted based on a systematic review of scientific literature, analysis of patient needs, and principles of ergonomic engineering, and resulted in the presentation of a conceptual model of an adjustable, affordable, and usable device in home and clinical settings. The results of the studies showed that the proposed device, by applying controlled traction to the spine, has the ability to reduce intervertebral pressure, improve posture, and reduce pain intensity. Features such as adapting to different heights and body shapes, easy to carry, high safety, and the possibility of continuous use are considered to be the strengths of this device. The findings emphasize that such devices can be an effective and cost-effective alternative to traditional and costly equipment and play a significant role in improving the quality of life of patients. This research shows that the design of devices based on knowledge of exercise physiology and rehabilitation can open new horizons in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. |
