| Abstract |
| Introduction: This research has conducted with an interdisciplinary approach and aimed at identifying the architectural components that are effective in promoting the quality and improving the sports performance of female students. One of the main challenges in this field is the quality of school open sports spaces and ignoring the special needs of girls; an issue that can negatively affect their motivation, participation, and level of physical activity. The importance of the subject is that school sports spaces not only provide a platform for physical development and improving students' motor abilities, but also play a significant role in psychological, social, and educational dimensions. Methods: The research method is applied in terms of purpose and quantitative and descriptive-survey in terms of nature and implementation method. Field data collection was carried out using a researcher-made questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale among female students aged 10 to 12 years in second-year elementary schools in Isfahan's first district. Results: The research findings showed that intelligent use of natural light and shade, use of safe materials that are compatible with climatic conditions, observance of principles and privacy appropriate to the cultural and social characteristics of the society, selection of colors that are in harmony with the spirit and taste of children, acoustic design to reduce the effects of environmental noise pollution, attention to the natural landscape and the existence of green spaces, physical flexibility of the space to respond to various sports activities, and equipping the space with standard sports facilities and equipment are among the needs of the students in the target population of the research. Conclusion: Studies show that improving the quality of sports spaces in girls' elementary schools requires simultaneous attention to a set of physical, environmental, and social factors. In this regard, eight architectural components have been extracted. |
