| Introduction: In competitive athletics, injuries remain an inevitable challenge that athletes must face. This case study examines the rehabilitation journey of a champion middle-distance runner who suffered a severe ankle sprain, leading to a major disruption in her training program. Through a combination of physiotherapy, needling techniques, taping therapy, and endurance-focused retraining as well as mental training, the athlete was able to return to structured practice within six sessions. This article outlines the rehabilitation process, methodologies employed, and the outcomes achieved.. Methods: At the initial evaluation, the athlete presented with significant swelling, pain, and reduced range of motion in the ankle. A comprehensive assessment was conducted, including,Physical Examination,Functional Testing, Injury History and endurance Readiness. The rehabilitation plan was designed to address both physical and psychological aspects of recovery, tailored specifically for the demands of middle-distance running. The rehabilitation program was completed in six structured sessions (approximately one hour each), with ongoing monitoring of progress. Results: Throughout the rehabilitation process, the athlete showed remarkable improvement: Pain Levels: Decreased significantly from a score of 8/10 to 2/10. Range of Motion: Restored to near pre-injury levels by the end of the sessions. Confidence: Psychological readiness was assessed through verbal feedback, which indicated a positive outlook toward returning to competitive training. Conclusion: The case of this champion Middle-distance Runner illustrates the effectiveness of a multifaceted rehabilitation approach in overcoming injury setbacks. Through a combination of physiotherapy, needling, and taping therapy as well as mental techniqe the athlete successfully returned to training within six sessions. This case not only highlights the importance of tailored rehabilitation strategies but also emphasizes the role of psychological support in the recovery process. The athlete's journey serves as an inspiring example for both practitioners and athletes, illustrating that with the right approach and dedication, returning to peak performance after an injury is achievable. |
