| Abstract |
| In recent decades, the concept of body management has become one of the prominent issues in the fields of health, sociology, and sports studies, especially among women. Female members of sports clubs face various challenges in adapting to beauty standards, athletic requirements, and cultural expectations, all of which influence their attitudes toward their own bodies. The present study aims to identify and prioritize the factors affecting the attitudes of women who are members of sports clubs in Kermanshah toward body management. This research is applied in nature and follows a descriptive–survey approach. The statistical population includes all female members of public and private sports clubs in Kermanshah city in 2024. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire consisting of 32 items across five dimensions: individual–psychological, social, cultural, media, and economic. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were confirmed. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS and Smart PLS software through the structural equation modeling method. The findings revealed that the media factor had the greatest impact on women’s attitudes toward body management, followed by the individual–psychological, cultural, social, and economic dimensions, respectively. The results indicate that social comparison, body image, cultural norms, and financial accessibility are key factors shaping women’s orientation toward controlling, modifying, or improving their bodies. In conclusion, body management among female athletes in Kermanshah is a multidimensional phenomenon influenced by social, media, and internal structures. Accordingly, designing educational, media, and supportive policies aligned with cultural and psychological contexts can help improve attitudes and promote women’s physical and mental health. |
