Identifying the effective and contextual factors of financial support for Elite sports in Mazandaran Province

Abstract
Introduction: Sponsorship is a concept that is relatively recent in comparison to other elements of marketing, One of the primary objectives of providing financial support is to enhance the image of the sponsor or to assist the sports community (Sharifi & Dehghan Ghahfarrokhi, 2021). Sponsorship does not merely involve soliciting financial contributions from supporters; instead, it entails that business organizations seek to establish collaborative partnerships with the initiatives of the sponsoring entity to fulfill individual objectives and attain shared advantages (Besharati et al, 2023). Therefore, the purpose of this research was to identify the effective and contextual factors of financial support for the Elite sports in Mazandaran Province.
Methods: The present research method is fundamental in terms of purpose and in terms of methodology in the qualitative research branch, which was implemented using a Grounded Theory approach and the systematic method of Strauss and Corbin in the period 2023-2024. The research community was through in-depth interviews with university faculty members, heads of the sports and youth departments and provincial sports boards, sports marketers and financial sponsors in sports. The sampling method was purposeful and accessible. Finally, theoretical saturation was achieved by conducting 15 interviews.
Results: Based on the results of the research, the factors affecting financial support include; Economic factors, management factors, cultural-ethical factors and government factors, as well as the contextual factors of financial support included; sports drivers, legal drivers and media drivers.
Conclusion: It can be concluded that the feeling of social commitment and concern of financial supporters regarding the state of the sports community and its financial problems, causes the transfer of good feelings towards the financial supporter in the sports community, which leads to the development of the sales market, loyalty and financial benefits for financial supporters.
