| Abstract |
| Introduction: In badminton, the shoulder muscles are prone to injury due to aggressive and powerful strokes such as smashes, and athletes are more likely to suffer from injury and dysfunction if they have a postural disorder such as dyskinesia. Kinesio tape has been widely used to prevent and rehabilitate sports injuries. Taping can improve proprioception, which is believed to play a role in preventing acute injury and developing chronic injury. This study aimed to investigate the effects of taping on stability, performance, and ball speed of badminton players with scapular dyskinesia. Methods: This research was of an applied and semi-experimental type. The statistical population of this research consisted of male badminton players aged 10 to 16 years with dyskinesia, living in Tehran. Twenty-five people were selected as a sample. After being informed about the subjects' conditions and confirming the presence of dyskinesia by a doctor, it was ensured that no cases would prevent the subjects from entering the research. First, the subjects' height and weight were assessed, and then the Y, Davis balance test and ball speed tests were taken from the athletes, and Kinesis tape was used for the athletes. All the initial tests were measured again. In this study, the paired t-test was used for data analysis and SPSS 26 software was used (p ≤ 0.05). Results: The study's results showed that the Y balance test had significant changes after using the tape (p < 0.001). In addition, the changes in the Davis test and ball speed in athletes had significant differences after using the tape (p < 0.001) |
