| Abstract Introduction: Innovation and change are essential for organizational success, especially in education and IT management. Promoting innovation among physical education teachers can improve adaptation to change and enhance educational outcomes in schools. Understanding the factors that influence acceptance of change is crucial for policymakers and educational administrators. Methods: This descriptive-survey research targeted 1,600 physical education teachers in Tehran. A sample of 384 teachers was selected using simple random sampling based on Morgan’s table. Data were collected using two questionnaires: (1) Antoncic et al.’s Innovation Questionnaire (reliability α = 0.94), and (2) Biyurtik and Lewin’s Organizational Change Questionnaire (reliability α = 0.92). Construct validity was confirmed via confirmatory factor analysis, and reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha. Structural equation modeling and beta regression coefficients were applied using SPSS and LISREL to analyze the data and rank component effects. Results: Findings showed that innovation positively influenced the acceptance of change with a path coefficient of 0.61. Among the innovation subcomponents, the social value of creativity had the greatest impact, indicating the importance of social and creative considerations in promoting change acceptance. All components of innovation demonstrated significant effects on teachers’ readiness to accept change. Conclusion: Innovation significantly enhances acceptance of change among physical education teachers. Policymakers and educational administrators should align innovation initiatives with teachers’ social values and professional expectations to maximize effectiveness. Focusing on social and creative aspects of innovation can further strengthen acceptance and engagement. |
