| Abstract |
| Background: People with disabilities face multiple barriers to sport participation, such as lack of proper guidance, transportation difficulties, and limited access to appropriate facilities. Tavansaz is a proposed artificial intelligence (AI)–based application designed to serve as a virtual supporter. It aims to provide personalized sport recommendations, adaptive training and nutrition programs, and information on accessible clubs and transportation routes. Methods: This mixed-method study explored the feasibility and acceptance of the Tavansaz concept among three groups: 23 inactive individuals with disabilities (15 female, 8 male), 12 recreational athletes (5 female, 7 male), and 8 elite Paralympic athletes or coaches (3 female, 5 male). Data were gathered through an online questionnaire with 20 items (covering perceived usefulness, ease of use, and intention to use) and semi-structured interviews. Results: Seventy-eight percent of respondents agreed that Tavansaz could recommend appropriate sports based on medical and body-scan data, while 72% expressed their willingness to use it if implemented. Among inactive participants, 81% stated that transport and accessibility features would help them start exercising. Thematic analysis identified three major themes: support and accessibility, motivation and empowerment, and trust and data security. Conclusion: Tavansaz is perceived as a feasible and socially valuable AI-based idea that can enhance participation and facilitate talent identification in Paralympic sports. Future work should focus on prototype development, ethical data management, and real-world pilot testing to maximize impact and inclusivity. |
