| Introduction:. Despite the World Health Organization’s recommendations for daily physical activity, a substantial proportion of children remain physically inactive. Schools provide an optimal environment for implementing interventions aimed at enhancing physical literacy a multidimensional construct that encompasses motor skills, physical fitness, and psychosocial attributes. This study investigated the effectiveness of a multisport approach in improving physical literacy among girls aged 8 to 10 years, a critical developmental period for acquiring fundamental motor skills. Methods: A quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test measures, including a control group, was employed. From a population of female students in Qazvin, 48 participants were randomly assigned to either an experimental group (n = 24) or a control group (n = 24).The experimental group participated in a 10-week multisport intervention consisting of 30 sessions, while the control group received no intervention during the same period. The primary outcome enjoyment of play, considered a key indicator of physical literacy was assessed using the standardized Play Fun Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS software (version 26), with the significance level set at α = 0.05. Results:. Baseline equivalence between the groups was confirmed. Following the intervention, the experimental group demonstrated a substantial and statistically significant increase in mean enjoyment of play scores, rising from 26.25 to 84.14 (p < 0.001). In contrast, the control group showed no significant change (from 21.58 to 21.92, p = 0.177). Conclusion: The structured multisport intervention significantly enhanced children’s enjoyment of play and overall physical literacy compared to the control group. These findings highlight the effectiveness of diverse and engaging movement programs within school settings. It is recommended that educators and policymakers adopt multisport strategies to foster motivation and promote sustained physical activity among children |
